Famous Carnatic Composers - SI


Seetaaraama Aiyyar - Also known as Todi Sitarama Iyer or double Pallavi Seetarama Iyer, he adorned the courts of Tanjore, Pudukottai, and Ettayapuram like many other renowned musicians of the 18th century. He hailed from Aadichapuram and was also an expert at the morsing. He performed in Madurai and was the disciple of Veena Kuppaiyyar. His grandfather 'Kudirai' Vaidyanatha Ayyar who was patronised by Saraboji and was honoured with a horse; it is he who began the Ghanam style of singing. His father was Ghanam Ganapati Ayyar, who defeated Bobbili Kesavayya. Ghanam Ganapati Ayyar was the brother in law and teacher of Ghanam Krishna Ayyar of Tirukkundram.
