raama manthrava japisO raagam: jOnpuri
20 naTabhairavi janya
taaLam: aadi pallavi Raama mantrava japiso e maanuja anupallavi
aa mantra ee mantra meccini geDa bEDa caraNam
sakala vEda gaLigE saaramE iva mantra
Meaning: anupallavi: Avoid this mantra and that mantra, and say Somasekhara's (sOman = moon, Sikhara = head; thus "one who has the moon on his head", Siva) mantra to be happy. caraNam: This mantra, Rama, is the essence (saaram) of all (sakala) the Vedas, and it is the best mantra for reaching salvation (mukti). For those with bhakti, this is the ultimate mantra. This is Purandara ViTThala's (Vishnu's) great mantra.
