Tejaswini Narayanan began her Carnatic musical training at the age of four from Smt. Andal in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. She then studied music with Mrs. Gomathy, disciple of Thiru T.N. Seshagopalan and then moved on to continuing to learn under the tutelage of Smt. Sethulakshmi, who has done a Vidwan course in Madras Music College Adyar, is a student of Musiri Subramanya Iyer, and learnt veena from Kalyana Krishna Baghavathar. Tejaswini has won many competitions by representing Tamil Nadu at the All India Postal Cultural Meets and also performed in various temples. She went on to simultaneously pursue Hindustani classical music and bhajans from Smt. Chitra in Chennai. She is also a talented Bharatnatyam dancer and is currently a PhD student at the University of California, San Diego, where she has also started to learn the Sitar and Kathak. She now teaches music in San Diego, CA.
