Kalpaka Kamakshi Sreenivasan had her initial training Karnatic music from Smt. Haripriya Ramesh at the age of 8 and gave a performance in Ragam Sangeetham (Raj TV) at the age of 12. She also briefly trained under Smt. A.Rajalakshmi, her music teacher at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Kalpakkam.She has won several prizes and awards for classical and light music during her school and college days including at the World Music Day celebrations organised by Carnatica at Narada Gana Sabha, Chennai.

Thereafter, she trained under Sangeetha Choodamani S. Sowmya(a disciple of Smt.T.Mukta) for a couple of years and from Smt.Usha Padmanabhan (a disciple of Dr.R.Vedavalli and an AIR A grade artist). She has performed at Sun TV Sapthaswarangal and Vijay TV's Paadum Office.

She is currently undergoing advanced vocal training under Smt. Uma Ayyar in Sydney, Australia. Being actively involved in musical events in her community, she has performed at various religious, cultural and charity organisations like NSW Indian Welfare Association, Sri Venkateshwara Temple, Sydney Music Circle, Kripasindhu Sai Sansthan, Busk for a Cure to name a few. Both she and her husband Sri.Manibalan are part of the organising committee for Sydney Music Circle for 2016-2017.

Inspired by her Guru Smt. Haripriya Ramesh, she runs a website called www.karnatikforkids.com to teach bhajans, slokams and simple devotional krithis to young children who wish to learn this divine art form.
