Meaning:
pallavi: Say the mantra (chant, name) of Rama, oh man.

anupallavi: Avoid this mantra and that mantra, and say Somasekhara's (sOman = moon, Sikhara = head; thus "one who has the moon on his head", Siva) mantra to be happy.

caraNam: This mantra, Rama, is the essence (saaram) of all (sakala) the Vedas, and it is the best mantra for reaching salvation (mukti). For those with bhakti, this is the ultimate mantra. This is Purandara ViTThala's (Vishnu's) great mantra.
