In praise of Nashville Ganesha. In the words of the composer: "During my visit to (US) in 2003 I had the pleasure of availing the golden opportunity of meeting with Mr.Mahadevan, popularly known as NASHVILLE Mahadevan, who is the head of department, Civil Engineering, Vanderbilt Univ. His prowess as a composer is also well known. Incidentally he is one of the disciples of the great Maestro Prof.TRS. When we paid a visit to his house, his wife Monica Coley (a famous dancer conducting Bharata Naatyam classes at Nashville) made a special request to compose a kriti in praise of the presiding diety Lord Ganesha of Nashville. Instantly I composed the above kriti in the raaga GURUNAATHA PRIYA the next day, deeming it an ORDAIN from the divine !"
